Mr. Malone was Minister for Health in the United Kingdom from 1994 to 1997, serving in government under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as a Government Whip in 1985, then as Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party and Health Minister under John Major. He was Member of Parliament for Winchester from 1992 to 1997 and for Aberdeen South from 1983 to 1987.

Mr. Malone, a lawyer by profession, entered the private sector between 1987 and 1992, working in various fields including journalism and broadcasting. Since exiting the public sector in 1997, he has built a portfolio of non-executive directorships and consultancy appointments in pharmaceutical, healthcare technology, and investment trust sectors, both in the U.K. and the U.S.

Mr. Malone serves as Chairman of Ultrasis plc, a UK publicly quoted provider of clinical software; Chairman of Centrom plc, a publicly quoted software services company; Advisor to Mediatech Capital Partners LLC (New York) on medical, health, and biotechnology projects; Chairman of Crescent Pharma Limited (a privately owned generic pharmaceuticals supplier); Chairman of Aberdeen Asia Pacific Income Fund Inc (a U.S. registered investment fund); and Director of European Growth and Income Trust plc.

Mr. Malone advises Bloodstone with respect to general business, healthcare policy and venture capital matters.
